nations agreed generally on a declaration of principles and an action plan. 

RIO CONFERENCE ( EARTH SUMMIT ) 1992

The Earth Summit held at Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil, in June 1992 was another landmark international
meet on the environment. Officially the UN Conference for Environment and Development (UNCED), it was
attended by representatives from 178 countries and 115 heads of government
